The Greenwich Millennium Village; phase 2b:

Light steel framing has been used for the Greenwich Millennium Village Phase 2b housing designed by Proctor and Matthews Architects. An on-site rolling mill has been used to produce steel components for the housing, which has been designed with a high level of variety in both plan form and elevational treatment.

The main contractor for the build has been Protec. The steel frame and cladding system is by Powerwall, and consists of rendered 'Alulam' panels and cedar weatherboarding.

Protec's on-site factory for light steel frames uses a self-contained Scottsdale rolling mill housed in a container. Frames are rivetted through pre-punched holes by teams working in a temporary factory constructed with light steel framing.
